Parish Priest's Message:

Dear Balakunje Parishioners,

Greetings from Fr.Paul Sequeira. I Have taken charge as Parish Priest of this parish which is dedicated to St.Paul,on 24th May 2023. I feel blessed to be the Parish Priest of this church, for St.Paul is also my Patron saint.

This Parish was established on 01-01-1915. Therefore it has 108 years of history. It has now 220 families and 860 Parishioners. There are 7 wards. The Parish has a higher elementary school from 1st std to 7th std.People are Predominantly agriculturists. Now because of education they avail better jobs, thus economically betteroff.Growing sugarcane is considered a cash crop which is lucrative.

My Parishioners are simple, hardworking, religious, prochurch and have good Family ties.There is communal harmony between various religious people. My Parishioners are talented with lot of creativity in singing, dancing, acting and so on. There is lot of charity done, not only to Christians, but also to non-Christians which need to be appreciated.

Strong family tie is seen in this parish which is the strength of the families and parish. There is prayer in the family. Married couple know their responsibilities towards their children and children are obedient to their parents. This is the blessing of our patron St.Paul. There is a Feeling that Parish is ''MY PARISH''. ''My Parish Feeling'' promotes holiness, progress, leadership. Everybody is taken care of. All the resources are pooled together for the good of the parishioners. There may be difference as regards opinion not regarding My Parish.

Many of the famed businessmen and renowned people are from Balakunje who are settled in different corners of the world.

I wish a fruitful ministry here and pray God's blessings on my Parishioners. May our patron St.Paul intercede us.

Parish History:

ಗುಡೆ – ದೊಂಗೊರ್, ತಳಿಂ – ವ್ಹಾಳ್, ತೊಟಾಂ - ಭಾಟಾಂ, ಬೇಟ್ - ಬಯ್ಲ್, ರಾನ್-ಪಡಿಲ್ ಮೆಳೊನ್ ಆಪುರ್ಬಾಯೆಚ್ಯಾ ಪರಿಸರಾನ್ ಸಜೊನ್ ಆಸ್ಚ್ಯಾ ಹ್ಯಾ ಬಳ್ಕುಂಜೆ ಗಾಂವಾಂತ್ 87 ವರ್ಸಾಂ ಆದಿಂ ಸಾಂ ಪಾವ್ಲಾಚಿ ಫಿರ್ಗಜ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪನ್ ಜಾಲ್ಯಾ. ಸಗ್ಳೆ ಮಂಗ್ಳುರ್ ದಿಯೆಸೆಜಿಂತ್ ಸಾಂ. ಪಾವ್ಲಾಕ್ ಸಮರ್ಪುನ್ ದಿಲ್ಲಿ ಪಯ್ಲಿ ಫಿರ್ಗಜ್ ಹಿ.

ಹಾಂಚ್ಯೆ ಸರ್ವಾಂಚ್ಯೆ ಮ್ಹಿನತೆನ್ ಬಳ್ಕುಂಜೆಚಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತಿ ಪರ್ಜಾ ಆಪ್ಲ್ಯಾ ಆತ್ಮಿಕ್ ಬರ‍್ಯಾಪಣಾಸವೆಂ ಲೌಕಿಕ್ ತಶೆಂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ್ ಬರೆಪಣ್ ಜೊಡುಂಕ್ ಸಕ್ಲ್ಯಾ.

1916 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಬಳ್ಕುಂಜೆಂತ್ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ್ ಇಸ್ಕೊಲ್ ಸುರ್ವಾತ್ಲೆಂ. 1924 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಬಳ್ಕುಂಜೆ-ದಾಮಾಸ್‌ಕಟ್ಟೆ ರಸ್ತೊ ಆಸಾ ಜಾಲೊ. 1930 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಬೆಥನಿ ಮೆಳಾಚ್ಯಾ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ್ ಭಯ್ಣಿಂನಿ ಆಪ್ಲೆಂ ಕೊವೆಂತ್ ಉಗಡ್ಲೆಂ. 1933 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಲೂರ್ದ್ ಸಾಯ್ಬಿಣಿಚೊ ಗ್ರೊಟ್ಟೊ ಬಾಂದ್ಲೊ. 1937 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ್ ಇಸ್ಕೊಲಾಚೆಂ ನವೆಂ ಬಾಂದಪ್ ಉಬಾರ್ಲೆಂ. 1956 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ತೆಂ ಹೈಯರ್ ಪ್ರೆöÊಮರಿ ಇಸ್ಕೊಲ್ ಜಾವ್ನ್ ಪರಿವರ್ತನ್ ಜಾಲೆಂ. ಸಾಂ ಪಾವ್ಲಾಚಿ ಫಿರ್ಗಜ್ 1965 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಇಗರ್ಜೆಚಿ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಜಾಲಿ. 1972 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಇಗರ್ಜೆಕ್ ನವಿ ಆಲ್ತಾರ್ ಜಾಲಿ. 1975 ಇಸ್ವಂತ್ ನವೆಂ ಹೈಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಸುರು ಜಾಲೆಂ. 1980 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ವಿಗಾರಾಚೆಂ ನವೆಂ ಘರ್ ಬಾಂದ್ಲೆಂ. ಇಗರ್ಜೆಚೆಂ ಮಾಡಾಂ ತೋಟ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಉದ್ಕಾಚಿ ಸರ್ಬರಾಯ್, 1989 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಪ್ರೈಮರಿ ಇಸ್ಕೊಲಾಚ್ಯಾ ಬಾಂದ್ಪಾಚಿ ದುರಸ್ತಿ, 1990-91 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಫಿರ್ಗಜೆಚ್ಯಾ ಅಮೃತ್ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವಾಚೆಂ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಕ್ ಆಚರಣ್, ಇಗರ್ಜೆಚ್ಯಾ ಬಾಂದ್ಪಾಕ್ ಸಂಬಂಧ್ ಜಾಲ್ಲಿಂ ಹೆರ್ ಸಬಾರ್ ಯೆವ್ಜಣಾಂ ಜ್ಯಾರಿ ಜಾಲಿಂ. 1995 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಇಗರ್ಜೆಚ್ಯಾ ಪೊರ್ಟಿಕೊಚಿ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಚಲ್ಲಿ. 1999 ಇಸ್ವೆಂತ್ ಇಗರ್ಜೆಕ್ ನವೆಂ ಸೌಂಡ್ ಸಿಸ್ಟಮ್ ಆಯ್ಲೆಂ.
